Micah 4: 3.

A CORRESPONDENT calls for an explanation of Micah 4: 3, with respect particularly to the question whether the language expresses what the “many nations” spoken of in the verse before shall say, or whether it describes what will actually exist in the eternal state. It seems to us that there is an objection to applying it to the eternal state, inasmuch as there will be no swords nor spears there to be worked over into pruning hooks and ploughshares. We therefore incline to the view usually taken among Adventists, that this chapter, down to the sixth verse is parallel with Isa. 2, and expresses what the people shall say in the last days. U. S.
