Two Old Men

Two old men, inmates of a San Francisco almshouse, and both past 73 years of age, had a fight a few days since, resulting in one of them killing the other. One of the men was very peaceable in his nature, while the other was more or less quarrelsome. The quarrelsome man had had a grudge against the other, and, overpowering him in the fight, killed him in a most barbarously brutal manner. It would seem that men at such an advanced age would keep from so gross crimes. But there is “violence” in the land now as in the days of Noah, and it is one of the sure signs that we are near the end of time. The great millennial peace and reign of righteousness that has been so much talked about is all a delusion. The Bible says that “evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse,” and we see that the facts are in harmony with the Word of God.
