FALLS AND MADISON.—Since my last report held meetings at the above named places. At Falls I found many things to encourage me, which was the good interest manifested in their school. This church has passed through some trials; but for the past few months the Lord has been blessing them, and if they continue faithful and in love, I do not see why they should not prosper.
About one week before the general meeting at Madison, I labored for the benefit of the church, feeling that some difficulties should be looked into and the way prepared for the coming meeting. Glad to see the brethren determined to get into the work and enjoy the favor of God. Humble confessions were made, and there seemed to be a desire to walk in the path of obedience marked out in God’s word. We hope they will see better days in the future. The attendance at the meeting was good.
As we look over this season, now in the past, we feel it was a profitable one. Much interest was manifested in the Sabbath-school work, and the exercises in that department of the meeting were very interesting. How good it seems in this age of vanity to see the youth consecrating their powers to God, loving the things which are pure and true! The prayer meetings were also very good, and we believe our brethren will take hold in this department of work with renewed energy. Measures were taken to place our good REVIEW in every family of Sabbath-keepers, and we hope to see the list of subscribers largely increased very soon. God is good to his people, and we are glad to report good courage and signs of good in this part of the field. By keeping our eyes fixed on God and his work, we may frustrate the plans of the enemy and gain the victory. When we look at ourselves and our difficulties, discouragement is sure to follow. We hope with God’s help to go forward, and push the work to the end.
