"Stand Up for Jesus."

STAND up for Jesus, firm, undaunted, Show your colors, dare be true. Never take his name upon you, While you shrink his will to do. Ne'er like Peter, weak and falt'ring, Spun your Lord when danger's nigh; But, though skies be fair or clouded, Boldly raise your voice on high.
Though we would, we cannot mock him: All his people will be tried. Faithful here, who now confess him, Shall at length with him abide. Then before his gracious Father, Countless angels bright and fair, He will own us as his children, Bid us in his glory share.
See the prize! See angels beckoning! Swells my soul with rapture so, And my quickening pulses, bounding, Make me long e'en now to go. But I wait, and here a witness Gladly own my Saviour's name. Help me, Lord, lest I, unfaithful, Clothe thy precious cause with shame. J. A. Dayton.
