The holy Jesus . . . sits in heaven in a perpetual advocation for us. Bp. Taylor.
A bill of advocation (Scots Law), a written application to a superior court, to call an action before them from an inferior court. The order of the superior court for this purpose is called letters of advocation. The proceeding is similar to a certiorari issuing out of the supreme court for the removal of a cause from an inferior tribunal.
