[Gr. ἀτελής, imperfect, from ἀ priv. and τέλος, end, completion.] A prefix to many words, implying imperfection:—as, atelo-glossia, malformation of the tongue; atelo-cheilia, of the lips; atelo-prosopia, of the face; atelo-stomia, of the mouth; atelo-encephalia, imperfect development of the brain; atelo-gnathia, malformation of the jaws; atelo-myelia, imperfect development of the spinal marrow.
