Christ's'-thōrn, n.
n. (Bot.) A deciduous shrub of the Rhamnus family (Paliurus australis), a native of Palestine and the south of Europe. It is a handsome and free flowering, but very prickly shrub, and is so named as it has been supposed to have been that of which the crown of thorns worn by Christ was made. Baird.
