Cœ'nes-thē'sis, n.

n. [Gr. κοινός, common, and αἴσθησις, sensation.] Common sensation, or undistinguished sensation, supposed to depend on the ganglionic system, acting through the muscles or viscera, as distinguished from the special sensations which are located in, or ascribed to, separate organs, as the eye and the ear.
