Ĕp'i-pho-nē'mā, n.

n. [Gr. ἐπιφώνημα, a thing uttered besides, from ἐπιφωνεῖν, to say in addition, from ἐπὶ and φωνεῖν, to speak loud, from φωνή, sound.] (Rhet.) An exclamatory sentence or striking reflection which sums up or concludes a discourse.
