Flāsh'ing, n.

noun
  1. The creation of an artificial flood by the sudden pouring in of water.
  2. (Arch.) Pieces of lead, or other metal, let into the joints of a wall, so as to lap over the gutters and prevent the plashing of rain on the interior works. Gavitt.
