Fly'-cātch'er, n.

noun

n. 1. One who hunts flies. 2. (Ornith.) One of several species of birds, forming the Linnæan genus Muscicapa, and having a bill flatted at the base, almost triangular, notched or hooked at the upper mandible, and beset with bristles. These birds are so named because they feed entirely on flies and other winged insects, which they catch as they fly. P. Cyc.
