Gā'le-ōp'sis, n.

n. [Lat., from Gr. γαλιόψις, from γαλή, for γαλέη, weasel, and ὄψις, appearance, form.] (Bot.) A genus of plants; the hemp-nettle; — so called from the resemblance of the form of the grotesquely-shaped flower to that of the weasel.
