Gno-mŏn'ics, n. sing.

(no-mŏn'iks), n. sing. [Gr. γνωμονική (sc. τέχνη), Lat. gnomonice, gnomonica, Fr. gnomonique. See supra.] The art or science of dialing, or of constructing dials to show the hour of the day by the shadow of a gnomon. [See Note under MATHEMATICS.]
