(grăm), n. [Fr. See GRAM.] The French unit of weight, equivalent to the weight of one cubic centimeter of pure water at its maximum density, that is, at a temperature of 39.2° Fahrenheit, in a vacuum, in Paris. It is equal to 15.433 grains troy or avoirdupois.
