Hôrse'-rād'ish Tree

(Bot.) A tree found in India (Moringa [or Hyperanthora] pterygosperma), having pinnate leaves, and long, three-valved, pod-like capsules, largely used in curries, and to some extent in medicine. The fresh root has a pungent odor and warm taste, much like that of a horse-radish.
