Lo-rëtte', n.
n. [Fr.] One of a certain class of females in Paris devoted to intrigue and gaining their support by prostitution, and differing from the grisettes in being of more showy appearance and better apparent condition, and in doing no work, being wholly supported by their lovers; — so called from the church of Notre Dame de Lorette, near which many of them reside.
