noun

n. (Zoöl.) A monkey (Cercocebus fuliginosus), of a uniform sooty-black color, but with white eyelids. It was so called by Buffon, from Mangaog, in Madagascar, whence he supposed them obtained. They are, however, natives of the west coast of Africa.
