Nu-mīd'i-an Crāne

. (Ornith.) A variety of crane (Grus virgo), which is ash-colored, having a black neck, with two beautiful whitish aigrettes formed by the prolongation of the feathers covering the ears. It is a native of many parts of Asia and Africa.
