Ŏm'ber or Ŏm'bre, n.

(Synop., §130), n. [Fr. & It. ombre, Sp. hombre, from Sp. hombre, man; Lat. homo.] A game at cards, borrowed from the Spaniards, and usually played by three persons.

When ombre calls, his hand and heart are free. And joined to two, he fails not to make three. Young.
