n. [Lat. orichalcum, aurichalcum, Gr. ὀρείχαλκός, from ὄρος, mountain, and χαλκός, brass; It. oricalco, Sp. auricalco, Fr. orichalque, and archal.] A metallic substance, resembling gold in color, but inferior in value; a mixed metal of the ancients, resembling brass.
