Păch'y-dĕrm'a-tă, n. pl.

n. pl. (Zoöl.) An order of mammals which have hoofs, but do not ruminate, and which are distinguished for the thickness of their skins, including the elephant, mastodon, hippopotamus, rhinoceros, tapir, horse, hog, and the like.
