Păr/a-cȳ-ăn’ō-gen, n.

n. [From Gr. παρά, beside, and cyanogen.] (Chem.) A brownish-black insoluble substance, which remains after the decomposition of the cyanide of mercury by heat. It is apparently isomeric with cyanogen. Silliman.
