Pa-rēm'bo-le, n.

n. [Fr. parembole, Gr. παρεμβολή, an insertion beside, from παρεμβάλλειν, to put in, or beside, or between, to insert beside, from παρά, beside, and βάλλειν, to throw.] (Rhet.) The insertion of something in the middle of a period which may be removed without destroying its meaning or grammatical integrity;—called also paremptosis.
