Pī'cle, n.
n. [Perhaps from It. piccolo, small, little; more probably corrupted from pightel or pingle. According to some, it is from Lat. pictacium, for pittacium, small slip of parchment, scrap. See PIGHTEL and PINGLE.] A small piece of land inclosed with a hedge; a close. [Obs.]
