Sāin'foin, n.
(Synop., § 130), n. [Fr., from sain, wholesome, and foin, hay, Lat. sanum fœnum; or from saint, sacred, and foin, hay, Lat. sanctum fœnum; but the latter spelling and derivation is probably wrong.] (Bot.) A leguminous plant of the genus Hedysarum, cultivated for fodder. [Written also saintfoin.]
