n. [Lat. Saracenus, Gr. Σαρακηνός, It. Saraceno, Saracino, Fr. Sarrasin, from Ar. shar-ki, pl. sharkīn, Oriental, Eastern, from sharaka, to rise, of the sun.] An Arabian; a Mussulman; an adherent or propagator of Mohammedanism in countries further west than Arabia.
