Sē'lâh, n.
n. [Heb. selâh, from sâlâh, to repose, to be silent.] (Script.) A word of doubtful meaning, occurring very frequently in the Psalms; by some supposed to signify silence or a pause in the musical performance of the song; by others, to indicate special attention to the subject.
