(-wŭrt), n. [Lat. splenium, asplenium, asplenum, Gr. σπλήνιον, ἀσπλήνιον, ἄσπληνον.] (Bot.) A plant of the genus Asplenium; miltwort;—so called from having formerly been reputed valuable as a remedy for diseases of the spleen. Loudon.
