(wĭd'-jun), n. [Fr. vin-geon, gingeon, Prov. Fr. oigne, oignard.] (Ornith.) A waterfowl of the duck group, belonging to the genus Mareca of Stephens. The European species is the Mareca Penelope, the American the Mareca Americana.
