Preparing Little Hearts for Jesus' Second Coming
How can children follow Jesus' childhood example to prepare for His return?
Provide a children’s bible story addressing how kids can live a holy life as we prepare for Christ second coming

Hello! It is such a joy to share this special Bible study with you. 🌟 The most important way children can prepare for Jesus’ return is by inviting Him into their hearts every day and choosing to follow His example of love and obedience.
Let’s look into God’s Word to see how you can live a holy and happy life while we wait for that glorious day!
🎺 A Most Glorious Hope
The Bible tells us that Jesus is coming back to "bring home again His banished" Job 19:25-27. This means He is coming to take us to a beautiful home He has prepared for us John 14:2-3. For children who love Him, this is not a scary time, but a "precious, joy-inspiring hope" Titus 2:13.
🏠 Learning from the Boy Jesus
Did you know that even as a child, Jesus was preparing for His work? When He was twelve years old, He was found in the temple, and it was clear the Holy Spirit was resting upon Him Luke 2:40, 46-47.
Be Helpful: Jesus didn’t think He was too important to work. He helped His father and mother with "the most humble toil" and worked with His own hands Luke 2:51.
Be Obedient: Even though He was very wise, He obeyed His parents and grew in favor with God and man Luke 2:52.
🛡️ How to Stay Ready Every Day
Living a holy life means being set apart for God. Here are some ways you can "watch and be ready" Matthew 24:44:
Make God’s Word Your Lamp: Read your Bible! It is like a lamp that shows you exactly where to step so you don’t trip in the dark Psalm 119:105.
Talk to God Often: Before you start your day, take time to "settle your heart." Just like a musician tunes an instrument, we tune our hearts to God through prayer so we can stay calm and kind Psalm 105:4.
Watch Your Words: Remember that God sees us and hears everything we say. Try to choose words that are kind and helpful to others Matthew 12:36.
Choose Simplicity: Instead of worrying about having the fanciest clothes or gold jewelry, focus on having a "meek and quiet spirit," which is what Jesus is like 1 Peter 3:3-4.
Take Care of Your Body: Since we are waiting for Jesus, we should eat things that keep us strong and healthy, just like God designed in the beginning Genesis 1:29.
🐑 Being a "Little Light"
Jesus said that before He comes, the world might get a little bit darker and people might be unkind 2 Timothy 3:13. But you are part of His "little flock" Luke 12:32. You can be like John the Baptist, helping other people get ready to meet God by being a good example of honesty and love Matthew 3:3.
✨ A Promise for You
Jesus knows that sometimes it is hard to be patient. But just like a farmer waits for his seeds to grow into a harvest, we can be patient because we know the "coming of the Lord draweth nigh" James 5:7-8.
When He appears in the clouds with all His bright angels Matthew 24:30-31, you will be able to look up and say, "This is our God; we have waited for Him!" Isaiah 25:9.
Keep your heart open to Him today! ❤️
"Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him" Revelation 3:20.
