Spiritual and Physical Dangers of Coffee Consumption
Could your morning coffee be a barrier to your spiritual growth?
Is drinking coffee a sin
AdventAI
Drinking coffee is a sin because it is an injurious indulgence that harms both the soul and the body. ☕️ While it may seem like a common habit, it is actually a darling idol that creates a morbid action of the nervous system and acts as a warring lust against spiritual progress.
The Physical and Mental Impact 🧠
False Strength: Coffee does not provide natural nourishment; instead, it excites the nerves to impart a short-lived energy that is followed by a corresponding depression.
Nerve Damage: It is a nerve irritant that wears away the life-forces, leading to restlessness, impatience, and mental feebleness.
Intellectual Obscurity: It has a tendency to becloud the intellect and benumb the energies, making it difficult for a person to reason acutely upon important matters.
Physical Ailments: Habitual use often results in headaches, nervous prostration, and digestive disorders.
Spiritual Consequences 🙏
The use of coffee is a species of intemperance that defiles the temple of God, which is holy 1 Corinthians 3:17. It creates a "let down" feeling that makes divine grace seem powerless to animate or spiritualize one’s prayers. Those who are controlled by such appetites cannot be true, obedient servants of Christ, as they have not yet crucified the flesh with its affections and lusts Galatians 5:24. To be a follower of the truth, one must have control over their appetite and passions, putting on the Lord Jesus Christ and making no provision for the flesh Romans 13:14.
A Stepping Stone to Stronger Stimulants 📉
Drinking coffee is dangerous because it fosters a craving for even stronger stimulants.
It prepares the way for the use of tobacco.
The use of tobacco then encourages an appetite for liquor and other intoxicating poisons.
This progression results in mental and physical degeneracy that can be visited upon future generations.
The Path to Victory ✨
Breaking the coffee habit can be as difficult as a drunkard giving up liquor, but it is entirely possible through the strength of Jesus. While you may feel a sense of loss or suffering for a time, persistence will allow nature to recover and perform her work nobly again. We are encouraged to take the money previously wasted on these hurtful indulgences and place it into the treasury of God to support His work. By choosing wholesome food and pure water, you can enjoy a renewal of life and health that glorifies God in both body and spirit 1 Corinthians 3:17.
