When God Seems Silent: Strengthening Your Prayer Life
What should you do when it feels like God isn't hearing your prayers?
What to do when it feels like God is not listening to prayers?

When it feels as though God is not listening to your prayers, you must hold fast to your faith and refuse to allow distrust to separate you from Him. It is vital to remember that God is a prayer-hearing and prayer-answering Father who often tests the strength of our desires by delaying an immediate answer.
Maintain Unwavering Faith
Avoid Dependence on Feeling: Feelings are no criterion for your standing with God; instead, you must rely on the evidence of things not seen Hebrews 11:1.
Trust the Timing: When you need the blessing most, it will fall upon you like a shower of rain.
Persevere in Prayer: We often let go of the arm of the Lord too soon; you should press your petitions higher and higher with earnestness.
Engage in Heart-Searching
Examine Your Life: Use the law of God as a mirror to detect errors and imperfections, removing them through the blood of Christ.
Address Iniquity: If you cling to sin in your heart while praying with your lips, the Lord will not hear you, because you are not truly asking for His will to be done Psalms 66:18.
Correct Habits: To receive a blessing for physical infirmities, you must also lay aside unhealthful practices and live in harmony with both natural and spiritual laws.
Practical Steps for Connection
Wait Upon God: Give yourself time to think and wait for a renewal of physical, mental, and spiritual power.
Listen More Than Talk: True prayer involves listening to God’s voice through His Word; studying His revealed will allows you to respond to His offers with thanksgiving Isaiah 55:3.
Keep Your Prayers Sincere: Avoid long, dry, or mechanical petitions that are like "sermonizing" to God; instead, offer short, fervent prayers right to the point.
Claim the Promises: Connect with Jesus through faith, for He has pledged Himself to grant the petitions of those who come to Him in faith.
Remember the Examples of Others
Jesus in Gethsemane: Even the Son of God prayed repeatedly for the cup to pass, yet submitted His will to the Father’s, ultimately receiving strength from an angel Matthew 26:39-44.
Jacob's Persistence: Seek the kingdom with a "spiritual violence" and holy determination, refusing to let go until you receive the blessing Genesis 32:24-26.
Moses' Intercession: Moses lost his timidity in his deep love for others, praying with firm faith and determined purpose until the Lord listened and granted his request.
If you feel you have no courage to lift your eyes to heaven, seek the help of faithful brethren to unite their voices with yours for deliverance. God delights to listen to the supplications of His people and will avenge His own elect who cry day and night to Him Luke 18:7.
