Directors’ Meeting.

At a meeting of the Directors of the Pacific S. D. A. Publishing Association, held May 23, 1877, the following business was transacted:—
The resignation of Elder James White as President and member of the Board, was considered, with the reasons for the resignation, namely, absence, and a pressure of other cares.
After remarks from W. C. White, stating that it was Elder White’s intention to ever have the same interest in the prosperity of the Association as if a member of the Board, and that his resignation was intended to throw the burden of care upon those closely connected with the Office, it was unanimously accepted.
By a full vote, Bro. W. N. Glenn was elected as a member of the Board, to fill the vacancy occasioned by the resignation of Elder White.
Eld. J. N. Loughborough was then unanimously elected President of the Board of Directors.
The resignation of W. C. White as Business Agent of the Association was read and accepted, and W. N. Glenn was elected to fill the vacancy.
The following resolution in regard to the labors of Elder James White was read and adopted by unanimous vote:—
Resolved, That in accepting the resignation of Bro. James White as a member of our Board of Directors, it is a privilege to express anew our high regard for his unselfish zeal manifested in conducting the affairs of the Pacific Press. His noble example of consecration to the work has moved our brethren to lift beyond our most sanguine hopes in the SIGNS enterprise. To Bro. White’s business tact, with the blessing of God, our brethren can ascribe the prosperous state of the publishing house. We know that his withdrawal from the Board of Directors will not separate his interest from the work here, and we hereby invite him to give us such counsel, advice and instruction as in his judgment our young institution may need. Our prayers shall ever follow him in his arduous duties and cares.
Resolutions were adopted expressing appreciation of the labors of W. C. White and M. K. White, after which the meeting adjourned.
J. E. WHITE, Secretary.
