1 Corinthians 11:32

But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.

The judgment described stands in the setting of a rebuke for the misuse of the communion service. It confronts careless and irreverent participation and presses believers to treat the Lord's body with solemn seriousness. When the Lord judges His own people in this way, His judging takes the form of chastening. That chastening is corrective and merciful in purpose, disciplining them now so that they will not finally be condemned with the world.
