1 Kings 11:18

And they arose out of Midian, and came to Paran: and they took men with them out of Paran, and they came to Egypt, unto Pharaoh king of Egypt; which gave him an house, and appointed him victuals, and gave him land.

This verse belongs to the account of Hadad the Edomite, whom the Lord stirred up as an adversary to Solomon along with other adversaries. After arising out of Midian and coming to Paran, he took men with him out of Paran and came to Egypt to Pharaoh king of Egypt, who gave him a house, appointed him provisions, and gave him land. His opposition was among the troubles that weakened Solomon's kingdom.

This judgment awakened Solomon to his folly. It showed him that God had not utterly cut him off but was ready to free him from the bondage of sin.
