1 Kings 18:16

So Obadiah went to meet Ahab, and told him: and Ahab went to meet Elijah.

This verse belongs to Elijah's ministry during Israel's idolatry and the famine. In it Obadiah obeys Elijah's command by going to Ahab and telling him that Elijah is there. After Obadiah's report, Ahab goes to meet Elijah.

This meeting leads directly to Elijah's confrontation with the king, in which Elijah declares that Ahab and his father's house have troubled Israel, not Elijah. The larger account moves toward Elijah standing alone for God on Mount Carmel. There, after warning Israel, he by faith sees idolatry cast down and the return of rain as a sign of blessing.
