And the oracle he prepared in the house within, to set there the ark of the covenant of the LORD.
This verse belongs to the account of Solomon building the temple as the house for God. The oracle is the innermost room, the inner sanctuary within the house, prepared within to set there the ark of the covenant of the Lord. Solomon faithfully directed the construction and carried out God's directions for the temple.
The finished temple was magnificent, exceptionally rich and beautiful. Solomon's faithfulness in carrying out God's directions brought him fame among the nations. Solomon's temple was a permanent and larger structure that followed the same proportions and furnishings as Moses' tabernacle.
