1 Thessalonians 2:10
Ye are witnesses, and God also, how holily and justly and unblameably we behaved ourselves among you that believe: Ye are witnesses, and God also, how holily and justly and unblameably we behaved ourselves among you that believe:
Paul and his fellow workers lived among the believing Thessalonians in a holy and just and blameless manner, appealing to both those believers themselves and to God as witnesses of their behavior. The united testimony of the believers on earth and of God in heaven confirms the truth and sincerity of such a profession of godliness. Their blameless example gave weight to their personal labor for each individual believer, as they exhorted and comforted and charged every one to walk worthily of God who calls men to His own kingdom and glory.
For a minister, conduct as an example and witness, personal influence upon others, and the doctrines taught are all to be carefully watched and guarded. The verse sets forth the conduct God requires for salvation in His kingdom, which is to be Christlike at home and abroad, in health and in sickness, when among the world and when in the sanctuary. Such faithfulness is entered in the heavenly record, and when Christ comes to render to every person according as his works have been, every trial patiently endured will receive its reward. Making this holy and just and blameless conduct a matter of personal experience gives a hope that does not put to shame.
