Timothy Brings Good News to Paulby emmanuel_higgins

1 Thessalonians 3:7

Therefore, brethren, we were comforted over you in all our affliction and distress by your faith:

Timothy had brought good news of their faith and love, of their constant good remembrance of Paul always, and of their greatly desiring to see him just as he desired to see them, and upon this report Paul was comforted concerning them. In all his own affliction and distress he was comforted by the faith of the Thessalonians. Their steadfastness as those who stand fast in the Lord gives life to ministers in trial.

Such steadfast faith brings joy before God and renewed strength. That joy calls for thanksgiving to God and for praying night and day to see them face to face and to perfect what is lacking in their faith. The same tender solicitude seeks for the church in Rockhampton, that the Lord would make them increase and abound in love toward one another and toward all people. It further seeks that He would establish their hearts blameless in holiness before God at the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ with all His saints.
