1 Thessalonians 4:5

Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God:

Not in the lust of concupiscence forbids being ruled by uncontrolled lustful sexual desire, in marked contrast to the Gentiles who do not know God. The requirement governs the mind as well as words and actions, making chastity a matter of inward control and not of outward conduct alone. It therefore forbids solitary vice and the cherishing of amorous thoughts and fantasies. Marriage does not make indulgence in lust acceptable. Self-control remains binding in married life, forbidding sexual excess within marriage. Governing the sexual passions is a religious duty for which people are accountable to God.
