2 Corinthians 4:13

We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;

The same spirit of faith is David's spirit of faith. To have that spirit is to be fully convinced that the entrusted truth is reality, and that conviction compels open speech from the convictions of the heart. Applied to Christian witness, genuine faith leads a person to speak the good news of salvation and declare Christ's character.

It means handling the word of God honestly without deceit and without concealing the convictions of the soul. It means refusing to purchase wealth, honor, or pleasure by cowardly conformity to the opinions of the world in order to gain its approval. It means preaching not for self-aggrandizement but from the hope of saving souls.

It means continuing to speak without intimidation though in daily expectation and constant danger of martyrdom for that faith. This boldness is sustained by trust that He who died and rose again, who raised Jesus, will by mighty power raise the believer's body from the grave and present him with all the faithful won by his labors to the Father. This work continues because abundant grace through the thanksgiving of many redounds to the glory of God. Talking faith increases faith, so the more faith is spoken the more faith is had, while dwelling on discouragement and talking about trials and enlarging on them to enlist sympathy increases discouragements and trials.
