2 Kings 10:13

Jehu met with the brethren of Ahaziah king of Judah, and said, Who are ye? And they answered, We are the brethren of Ahaziah; and we go down to salute the children of the king and the children of the queen.

Jehu's words to the kinsmen of Ahaziah as they went to greet the royal households show self rising up in speech that was harsh and unsuitable. His example warns never to pour out such words upon others. Speech is instead to be gentle, so that souls may be won rather than driven away. Truth is to be presented in love, with self kept down and kindness shaping every utterance.
