2 Kings 19:11

Behold, thou hast heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands, by destroying them utterly: and shalt thou be delivered?

The words are Sennacherib's taunt against Hezekiah, Judah and Jerusalem, arguing that because the kings of Assyria had conquered and destroyed all other lands utterly, Jerusalem could not escape the same fate and be delivered. Assyria's past victories are set forth as the ground of the threat against Judah and Jerusalem. The taunt is a direct challenge to the power of God and to the hope of deliverance through the God in whom Hezekiah trusted. In making that challenge it wrongly treats the God of Israel as powerless, like the gods of the other nations that Assyria had overcome.
