2 Kings 4:30

And the mother of the child said, As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. And he arose, and followed her.

The speaker is the Shunammite woman, the mother of the child, speaking directly to Elisha. She firmly refuses to leave him unless he accompanies her, insisting that he himself come with her. This persistence is determined faith and resolve not to be turned aside.

She seals her refusal with an oath invoking the life of the Lord and the life of Elisha that she will not leave him. In response Elisha gets up and goes with her. He follows her to the house where her child lies dead.
