The Shunammite woman came to understand from his continually passing by her home that the traveler was a holy man of God. Together with her husband she acted on that discernment by preparing a room for him, and in that room she welcomed him. His work as a prophet was kindly in character, devoted to instructing and saving, yet he could act with sternness when respect for his prophetic mission had to be preserved.
