Ahaziah was the son of Jehoram of Judah, and he was twenty-two years old when he began to reign, ruling for one year in Jerusalem. His mother was Athaliah, the daughter of Omri. Through her influence he followed the ways of the house of Ahab and did evil.
He allied himself with his uncle Jehoram of Israel. He was killed during Jehu's purge of the house of Ahab.
