2 Samuel 22:11

And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: and he was seen upon the wings of the wind.

The verse belongs to a song, also described as a psalm, that David composed while Saul was hunting and pursuing him to take his life. In that song David recounts his dangers and deliverances and gives praise to God as his merciful preserver. The song expresses David's trust in God during severe trials.

God comes down in majesty, riding upon a cherub and flying upon the wind. This pictures powerful, swift intervention to deliver David. The verse is part of David's testimony to God's watchful care over him and the manifestations of divine power on his behalf.
