Deuteronomy 22:28
If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found; If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found;
The law applies when a man engages in sexual intercourse with a young woman who is a virgin and not engaged to be married. The case is to be read together with the rule stated in the next verse. The outcome places responsibility on the man by obligating him to marry the woman or to secure her future by means of a marriage settlement.
