Deuteronomy 9:3

Understand therefore this day, that the LORD thy God is he which goeth over before thee; as a consuming fire he shall destroy them, and he shall bring them down before thy face: so shalt thou drive them out, and destroy them quickly, as the LORD hath said unto thee.

The promise belongs to the extended instruction found in Deuteronomy chapters four through eleven, and that whole portion is needed to understand God's dealings with His people. That instruction is not confined to ancient Israel, for it applies directly to those carrying responsibilities in sanitarium work. Every direction God gives in those chapters is therefore binding, from the greatest requirement to what may seem the least. All of it is to be carefully observed by workers entrusted with such responsibilities.
