Exodus 18:7
And Moses went out to meet his father in law, and did obeisance, and kissed him; and they asked each other of their welfare; and they came into the tent. And Moses went out to meet his father in law, and did obeisance, and kissed him; and they asked each other of their welfare; and they came into the tent.
Jethro came to Moses in the wilderness, bringing Moses' wife and children to him and thereby reuniting him with his wife and sons. Moses went out to meet his father-in-law and welcomed him joyfully, with honor, respect and affection, bowing before him and kissing him.
In their first greetings they asked each other about their welfare and exchanged news. They then went into Moses' tent, with Moses bringing Jethro in with him after those first greetings. There Moses recounted what God had done to deliver Israel.
The reunion gave Moses comfort and relief through the company of his wife and sons. Despite his Gentile background, Jethro stood in the place of a witness through whom God revealed the principles of heaven.
